LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Air Pollution Control officials are proposing an $11,000 fine against a contractor involved in the Louisville Metro Police Department’s new downtown headquarters project.
Green City Demolition, a Cincinnati-based company, reportedly conducted asbestos removal work last year without obtaining the required permit from Louisville’s Air Pollution Control Division.
Representatives for Green City Demolition said the company mistakenly submitted notification forms to the Jefferson County Department of Health in Birmingham, Alabama, instead of the local agency.
The violation came to light only recently when the contractor applied for additional construction permits.
A public hearing on the proposed fine is scheduled for Sept. 17.
