LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville restaurant that's been around for nearly a century is closing its doors.
The Cottage Inn on Eastern Parkway posted on social media Sunday was its last day.
For decades people have stopped by for its fried chicken and comfort food. It changed owners a couple years ago following COVID and is again.
"There is a definite emotional connection to this restaurant," new owner Christopher Seckman said. "People were brought here by their grandparents, 96 years so that is quite a few generations."
It will now be known as the Parkway Diner and changing concepts - as of now it will only be open for breakfast and lunch.
WDRB spoke to some customers who made the restaurant a tradition.
"My father ate here for 40 years, had lunch every Monday through Friday for 40 years he ate here," customer Helen O'Daniel said. "So in our family this is the restaurant we would come to if we were going out to eat."
The Cottage Inn's staff will be sticking around for the new diner that'll open late this week.
