LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) —  Louisville's tallest apartment tower is under new ownership after a multimillion-dollar sale.

The 29-story, 286-unit 800 Tower Apartments sits along South Fourth Street in the heart of downtown. According to our partners at Louisville Business First, records show MF Blue Valley Apartments LLC purchased the building, with the deal closing May 19.

The sale follows a complicated financial stretch for the property. Court filings tied to the building detail missed mortgage payments on a $42.2 million loan, which ultimately led to legal action and a change in control of the asset.

Roughly a year before this latest transaction, the property had already been taken over by Fannie Mae in a separate $20 million acquisition, LBF reported.

Despite the instability in ownership, the building itself has seen significant investment in recent years, including about $17 million in renovations that upgraded amenities such as concierge services, a theater, business center and elevated resident spaces.

What comes next for the high-rise remains unclear. No future plans for the property have been announced.
