A woman in Louisville known as the "Seafood Lady" is taking her business to the next level.
After moving to Kentucky, Nichelle Thurston wanted to give people a taste of Florida style seafood.
So she started cooking and delivering her dishes throughout the city--and eventually invested in a food truck.
But her seafood business outgrew her mobile meals - so she's opening her first restaurant called "The Seafood Lady."
"I’ve always wanted to be successful and my dream has finally come true. This is the food that I grew up on. I feed my kids this style of food,” said Thurston. “I just wanted to share it with everybody and I hope it keeps growing.”
The Seafood Lady opens next month at 6th street and West Oak Street.
