LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A metal poster manufacturer is expanding into Louisville with a multimillion-dollar investment.
Gov. Andy Beshear announced in a release Wednesday that Poland-based Displate Manufacturing plans to open its first Kentucky facility in Louisville. The $9.5 million investment is expected to create 79 full-time jobs across 10 years.
Displate, a global e-commerce group, produces and distributes high-quality metal poster artwork.
"Kentucky’s unique location, skilled workforce and access to resources make it an ideal location for any company looking to expand its operations," Beshear said in the release.
The company plans to lease a nearly 60,000 square-foot facility in city as part of its larger plan to enter the U.S. and North American markets. By the end of the year, the facility is expected to process 35% to 50% of company's U.S. orders, with full operations anticipated in 2027.
The project received preliminary approval from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority for up to $850,000 in tax incentives tied to investment and job creation targets, according to the release. The company’s average hourly wage target is listed at $32.59, including benefits.
Nicholas Holdcraft, CEO Of Displate, said the company is committed to a "long-term" partnership with Louisville.
"Establishing our first U.S. manufacturing operation in Louisville is a defining milestone for Displate and a critical step in our long term North American expansion," Holdcraft said in the release. "Kentucky offers an exceptional combination of manufacturing talent, logistics infrastructure and a business environment that supports scale and innovation."
Displate was founded in 2013. The company works with independent artists and brands to create pop culture and entertainment-themed metal posters and artwork. It is headquartered in Poland and operates its U.S. marketing operations in Seattle.
The release did not say where in Louisville the facility will be located.
