LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A new Mexican restaurant will replace a Korean steakhouse in Louisville's Butchertown neighborhood.

La Raiz will open in the former Nami Modern Korean Steakhouse on East Main Street, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.

Nami, created by chef Edward Lee, closed abruptly in November 2025.

Ohio-based El Rancho Grande Incorporated, which operates 18 restaurants in Cincinnati and Dayton, is behind the new restaurant. It'll be their first restaurant in the Louisville area.

An opening date has not yet been announced.
