LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Barrel Whiskey Co. plans to open a new distillery in NuLu next year.

Nashville Barrel Company announced the new location in a news release Tuesday, planned for early 2026 at 717 E. Market St., a space previously occupied by Norae Bar, a karaoke bar that's set to close next month.

"We are incredibly excited to bring our passion for hands-on, curated whiskey experiences to Louisville, the undisputed bourbon capital of the world," Michael Hinds, CEO at Nashville Barrel Company, said in a news release. "The NuLu neighborhood is a vibrant hub for craft distilleries and is the ideal location to showcase our unique approach to whiskey fans looking for something truly special. We are thrilled to be part of such a dynamic community."

Louisville Barrel Whiskey Co. will feature a tasting bar, bottle shop and a space for "hands-on, intimate distillery experiences," the company said.

Nashville Barrel Company was founded in 2018 and currently has three locations, all in Nashville.
