LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An annual art show in Old Louisville returns this week.
The 68th annual St. James Court Art Show will be held from Oct. 4-6. More than 300,000 people are expected to visit Old Louisville for the art festival.
"We're a neighborhood show, we're a regional show that has a national reputation and people appreciate that," said Howard Rosenberg, the show's executive producer.
The show will feature more than 600 artists from around the United States. The outdoor art show takes up four square blocks in Old Louisville. It's divided among six sections: St. James Court, Belgravia Court, Fourth Street, 3rd Street, 1300 Section and West End Baptist Church.
On Friday and Saturday, the show will go from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, the show will start at 10 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.
Admission is free for the show. It will be held rain or shine, but no pets are allowed.
Trish Caudill is one of the artists who will be featured at the show. She grew up in Louisville and first was accepted into the St. James Court Art Show back in 2009 after attending it annually as a child.
"I feel so very fortunate that I have the ability to chase my passion and make a living off of it," Caudill said.
Earlier this month, the art show partnered with the Kentucky College of Art + Design to produce the official poster. Artist Jada Lynn Dixon tried to capture the essence of the event and the profound impact art can have on a person. The poster features the iconic court fountain, a triumphant woman in St. James Court through flowing strokes of watercolor.
Since 1957, the St. James Court Art Show has been held on the first full weekend in October. It has been ranked as one of the top 10 art shows in the country by Sunshine Artist Magazine.
