LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The St. James Court Art Show begins Friday, an annual fall tradition in Louisville that typically attracts more than 200,000 people.
The show, which is now in its 67th year, features more than 600 artists from around the country, all set up on streets around Old Louisville.Â
The festival leads to a handful of street closures, which Louisville Metro Police announced Monday:
- St. James Court between Magnolia Avenue and West Hill Street
- 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday
Magnolia Avenue between South 3rd and South 6th streets - 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Thursday through Sunday
- Alley between South 3rd and South 4th streets from Park Avenue to West Hill Street
- 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Thursday through Sunday
- Alley between South 4th Street and St. James Court from Magnolia Avenue and West Hill Street
- 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Thursday through Sunday
- R Chin Alley between South 6th and West Hill streets
- 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Thursday though Sunday
- West Gaulbert Avenue between South 3rd and South 4th streets
- 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Thursday through Sunday
- South 4th Street between Park Avenue and West Hill Street
- 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Thursday through Sunday
There are also areas where parking is prohibited during the show:
- 7 a.m. Thursday to 9 p.m. Sunday
- Park Avenue from 4th Street to 6th Street
- Gaulbert Avenue from 3rd Street to 4th Street
- 7 a.m. Wednesday to 11:30 p.m. Sunday
- St. James Court from Magnolia Street to Hill Street
- Magnolia Street from 3rd Street to 6th Street
- 7 a.m. Thursday to 10 p.m. Sunday
- Magnolia Street from 3rd Street to Levering Street
- 3rd Street from Park Avenue to Hill Street
- 3rd Street from Burnett Magnolia to Hill Street
- 4th Street from Park Avenue to Hill Street
- 6th Street from Park Avenue to Hill Street
- Hill Street from 3rd Street to 6th Street
- 7 a.m. Thursday to 7 p.m. Sunday
- Hill Street from 2nd Street to 6th Street
- 4th Street from Hill Street to Gaulbert Avenue
- 10 a.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Sunday
- Hill Street from 2nd Street to 6th Street (handicapped parking only)
And if you'd rather take public transit for the art show, TARC said in a news release Tuesday that people can park their cars at the Brown Hotel Parking Garage at 658 S. 3rd St. for $12 and get a free round-trip ticket on the bus. TARC said the buses will run about every 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The bus will pick riders up at Broadway and 4th Street and drop off at South 2nd and West Magnolia streets or South 1st and West Hill streets, both of which are two blocks from the art show.
