Shopbar on Barret Avenue in Louisville, Ky.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A new deli is coming to Louisville's Germantown neighborhood in a space formerly occupied by a bar and boutique.

Web and Honey will replace ShopBar on Barret Avenue this spring, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.

The space is located at Barret and Highland avenues, near several local small businesses. It has sat vacant since ShopBar closed in June 2025 after six years in business.

Melissa Ann Culton is opening the deli. Culton previously co-owned Bluegrass Pizza & Pub in Danville before relocating to Louisville in January. She told LBF she wanted a bigger city and chose Louisville after seeing "all of these cute little houses and these businesses."

The property consists of a 250-square-foot former office space and a garage that was converted into a bar, an 800-square-foot dining area and outdoor seating with a pergola.

Culton said she also plans on using the space for a restaurant, featuring grab-and-go options, and a retail store.

"I'm going to do dough balls and premade pizzas that you can take home and cook later," she told LBF. "I'm also going to do honey infusions and salves, so it's going to be kind of like a gathering center, too. When I get my liquor license, maybe every third Thursday I'll have a 'tap takeover.'"

The hope is to have Web and Honey open by May. Culton said she plans to hire about five people, and would like to add on catering services as the business grows.
