LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new Kroger is now open on Ballardsville Road.
The 66,000 sq. ft. store off New Chamberlain Road features a Starbucks, fuel center, pharmacy and drive-thru Wine and Spirits Shoppe.
Popular features like a Murray's Cheese Shop, sushi and grocery pickup are also included.
"It was well needed in this area," shopper Duwayne Langford said. "Perfect location. I know they have competition down the street."
Kroger first came to Louisville 95 years ago and now has 27 stores in Jefferson County. In celebration of the grand opening, the first 250 customers in line got $15 gift cards.
"It was a long line but it went by so quickly," shopper Cynthia Langford said. "The people were so friendly, so nice and the atmosphere was just wonderful."
