LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Old Forester is releasing a limited number of bottles of its annual limited Birthday Bourbon, but you'll need to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to buy the highly coveted collector's item.
This year's bottle contains 12-year-old 107 proof bourbon. The birthday edition is released every year on Sept. 2 to celebrate the birthday of the brand’s founder, George Garvin Brown. It's usually available that day at the distillery in downtown Louisville and select retailers. However, the brand is mixing things up a bit this year.
Bourbon lovers around the country are invited to take part in a sweepstakes for a chance to purchase one of the limited edition bottles for $199. Hand-selected by Master Distiller Emeritus Chris Morris and Master Taster Melissa Rift, with aid from Assistant Master Distiller Caleb Trigo, the 2024 Birthday Bourbon was harvested from 209 different barrels.
The sweepstakes opened Aug. 15 and continues through Aug. 21 on OldForester.com. CLICK HERE to enter.
Anyone winning the opportunity to purchase a bottle through the sweepstakes must purchase and pick it up at the Old Forester Distillery in Louisville between September 5, 2024 and December 14, 2024 (see official rules for all terms and conditions).
There's a limit of one bottle per customer, and bottles must be purchased with a credit card.
