LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Country Boy Brewing is stepping into a new chapter, expanding beyond beer with a new distillery set to open this fall in Scott County.

The company is renovating a 1,300-square-foot facility in Sadieville at 6325 Cincinnati Road, the former Hi-View Meats & Groceries building in northern Scott County.

When it opens, Country Boy Distilling will produce vodka, gin and apple brandy. The project will also include a visitor experience with tours and a small tasting room offering cocktails and beer.

"This place is close to my heart, I grew up stopping there every week," said Daniel "DH" Harrison, founder and brand manager. "Being able to plant our distillation roots in Sadieville means a lot to the family that is Country Boy Brewing."

The company said the new operation will be the first production distillery in Scott County since Prohibition ended, marking a rare return of spirits production to the area.

Country Boy said the facility will also feature a custom 100-gallon still built in partnership with Vendome, a project it said has been in development for two years.
