LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Venezuelan restaurant in St. Matthews is changing into a burger concept.
According to our partners at Louisville Business First, Señora Arepa will close on March 9 and reopen as Bourbon & Burgers later in the month. It's located at 117 St. Matthews Avenue, near Shelbyville Road.
The burger concept is the latest offering from Olé Restaurant Group, which also operates La Bodeguita de Mima, Guaca Mole, and Steak & Bourbon. Olé Restaurant Group previously operated Mussel & Burger Bar.
“St. Matthews had BBC (Bluegrass Brewing Co.) forever," Rick Moir, managing partner for the Olé Restaurant Group, said to Louisville Business First. "I don't even remember how long it was there, and we wanted to do a place where you could get an affordable burger. It’s going to be in that $12 to $16 range. We wanted to kind of do what I'm calling elevated wings. They're not just tossed in the sauce. They actually have components to the dish.”
Señora Arepa opened in Aug. 2023 in St. Matthews. It was first located in NuLu and featured traditional Venezuelan cuisine, coffees and cocktails.
