LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An adult entertainment club in Louisville’s Taylor-Berry neighborhood has been cleared to reopen after a November shooting.

Suga Land Gentlemen's Club at 3503 7th Street Road, which features "scantily clad but non-nude dancers," reached a settlement with Kentucky alcoholic beverage control officials who had temporarily revoked the club’s licenses following the fatal shooting of 42-year-old Quinn Dunlap inside the venue on Nov. 11.

Kentucky law prohibits patrons from bringing loaded firearms into businesses that serve alcohol by the drink and requires that alcohol licensees maintain order in their venues.

The state will lift its emergency suspension of Suga Land’s licenses after the club agreed to employ “trained security personnel” who will perform pat-downs and use metal-detecting wands to search all people entering the club except for on-duty employees, according to a copy of the settlement obtained by WDRB News.

Suga Land also agreed to continue using video surveillance of the interior and exterior of the building and to make that video available to ABC officials upon request. The security measures are required for two years.

Suga Land had appealed the suspension, arguing gun violence is rampant in Louisville and the business was being unfairly singled out.
