LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Bill Lamb is back at the helm of WDRB.
It was announced on Monday morning that Lamb is returning to the station as WDRB General Manager and President of the Broadcast division of Block Communications. He takes over leadership of the station immediately.
Company CEO Allan Block re-introduced Lamb to the staff on Monday afternoon.
Lamb left Louisville in 2019 to run the TV stations owned and operated by the Fox Network in Los Angeles, KTTV and KCOP. He stayed for three years before retiring back to Louisville last year, but as Lamb told the staff on Monday, "I don't do retirement very well."
"My wife, Becky, and I knew, even before we went to L.A., that we would one day return to Louisville. This is home. I am so happy once again working with all the incredible people at WDRB Media," Lamb said.
Lamb replaces Dale Woods, who took over in 2019 when Lamb left for Los Angeles.
In his 17 years at WDRB, Lamb helped the station become a market leader. He is also remembered for his "Point of View" editorials on the political and cultural issues of the day. He pioneered the editorials starting in June 2002 and continued the segments in Los Angeles.
