LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Plans to close the Tyson plant in Corydon, Indiana, are being pushed back a month.
According to a notice filed with the state of Indiana, Tyson said most operations will cease on March 1, but the company's marinated raw breading operations will remain operational until April 6.
Tyson first announced the closure in August 2023. The company once employed 360 people, but only 168 remain.
The last person is expected to be terminated from employment on Aug. 10.
Corydon is one of four cities losing a Tyson plant, which had a $64 million economic impact on Harrison County.
