LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- West Lou Coffee is moving into a new space on West Broadway in Louisville's Russell neighborhood.

The coffee roastery was launched by Sean Roberson in 2021. A native of the Shawnee neighborhood, he's sold his products at Rainbow Blossom and Blue Dog Bakery.

Roberson started in the food incubator Chef Space.

"I've been involved with coffee since I lived in Atlanta in 2016," Roberson said in a news release Monday. "I moved back to Louisville in 2021 because I felt there was a need for a Black-owned roastery in the West End. Chef Space was a great start for us but we outgrew it. In the new space, I've added more capacity with another roaster, and we can package and prepare everything here."

The bags are hand-roasted, and Roberson offers single-source espresso, light and medium roasts from three different countries.

"Sean is doing great things, and he is exactly the type of entrepreneur we like to partner with to grow local small businesses in the West End," Evon Smith, president and CEO of OneWest, said in a news release. "His coffee is in-demand because he produces an outstanding product."

West Lou Coffee will move into 1821 W. Broadway to expand its operations. To learn more about the business, click here
