LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The historic downtown Louisville building that used to be home to Goodwood Brewing and Spirits is up for sale, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.
The five-story building on Whiskey Row at 121 W. Main Street — just steps away from the KFC Yum Center — is on the market for $11.95 million, according to the listing on Kentucky Commercial Property Search. The 26,250-square-foot building is also available for lease.
The turn-key space includes multiple bar areas, a main stage, event spaces and a short-term rental unit on the upper floor. The building underwent a $13 million renovation in 2023.
Built in 1888, the building's ownership has strong ties to Louisville's bourbon history, with big names such as the Bernheim Brothers and W.L. Weller & Sons.
The Colorado-based owner, Numbers Holding Company LLC, bought the building in 2021 for $3.65 million, LBF reported.
The sale comes after Goodwood closed its East Main Street NuLu location and its West Main Street downtown taproom March 30 after defaulting on its lease. The company had opened the Whiskey Row site in late 2024.
Numbers Holding, which subleased the Whiskey Row space to Goodwood, is suing the company for nearly $225,000 in alleged unpaid rent and property taxes in Jefferson Circuit Court. This is one of many lawsuits from landlords, vendors, and investors of the company.
Goodwood also closed other locations amid its legal troubles, including its restaurant and taproom in Owensboro.
Managing partner of the Whiskey Row sale, Tyler Smith, said they believe the downtown location could attract a new operator, potentially similar to country music-themed bars seen in cities like Nashville.
Goodwood was Louisville's largest brewery before its recent financial strain, with 6,500 barrels produced in 2024.
