JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- A lot of construction is bringing jobs and things to do in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Everywhere in Jeffersonville there seems to be a new building popping up. The "now open" sign is officially up in front of Qdoba, while construction is underway right next door.

It's just some of the what is happening along 10th Street in Jeffersonville. More traffic, construction and people hard at work are signs of growth.

"Look around," Mayor Mike Moore said. "This is revenue for the city. Whether you shop here or not, this is good for the city of Jeff."

The area directly east of Taziki's is expanding. The Jeffersonville Town Center will soon add a McDonald's, Chipotle, 7 Brew Coffee and Fifth Third Bank.

"We've always been the city where you had to go someplace else to buy your clothes, to eat at a restaurant, to do whatever," Moore said. "Jeffersonville's got everything going on right now."

Businesses like Academy Sports, HomeGoods and Drake's are now anchors in a spot that has seen a lot of growth over the past few years.

"We're using a lot of the tax revenue that's come in from all the new businesses and we're putting it back into our community so families can enjoy it," Moore said.

About three miles east, in front of the Kroger on 10th Street, more work is being done. Moore said another Culver's is expected to move in with other restaurants and businesses taking shape.

"It's been an incredible climb, and I'm very thankful," he said. "A whole lot of people have done a whole lot of work to make Jeffersonville something special, but to grow up here and to see what it's become now, it's something I think we can all be proud of."

Moore said he's next looking for even more opportunities for entertainment spaces.
