LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- WDRB is launching a brand new newscast, but you can't watch it on TV. It's only available on the WDRB+ streaming app.

The online newscast will be anchored by a familiar WDRB face, journalist Monica Harkins, who will be joined by Julie Dolan. Julie has worked in Louisville since 2017, and Dolan joined the station in January. She previously worked in newsrooms in Cincinnati, Lexington and Evansville.

The WDRB+ newscast features a brand new podcast-style look and interactivity with viewers. Rather than just report the news, we'll discuss the topics of the day in detail with a new perspective.

"It's going to be a little bit different from what folks are use to seeing," Harkins said. "We've got kind of a different setup even in the studio, with the mics that come out more like a podcast.

"You're going to get your top five at 10, which is the rundown of your news stories of the day" from WDRB's website.

"We're loosening up the news, talking about it," Dolan said. "We're adding some new flavor and expertise. I'm really excited to be part of the team. I'm honored to be working with Monica and all of you guys."

The 10 a.m. newscast officially launches Jan. 22 on the WDRB+ streaming app available on ROKU, AppleTV and Amazon Fire as well as most smart TVs. Search for it in your streaming device's app store. It's also available on most smart phones.
