LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 13-year-old was hospitalized after being shot in Louisville's Smoketown neighborhood Friday afternoon.

Louisville Metro Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 900 block of S. Shelby Street about 4:12 p.m., said department spokesperson Adam Sears. 

Sears said officers found a 13-year-old boy with "multiple gunshot wounds." Officers rendered aid until EMS arrived and transported the boy to UofL Hospital. 

LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating.
