LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 28-year-old Louisville man has been charged with murder in connection to a homicide near Petersburg Park earlier this week, according to Louisville Metro Police.

LMPD said a man was found dead with "traumatic wounds of some nature" near Petersburg Park on Sept. 23. Police said the body of a Hispanic man in his 20s was found in a wooded area near the intersection.

Miguel Andrade Giron was charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence in connection to the homicide, according to a post on LMPD's Facebook page.

Andrade Giron was already in custody at Louisville Metro Corrections on unrelated charges when he was arrested.  He will remain jailed on the new charges, police said.
