LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A second suspected was arrested Monday in connection to a recent shooting in Louisville's Shawnee neighborhood that left a woman injured.

According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, 30-year-old Davon Gant was arrested March 23, followed by the arrest of 29-year-old Steffon Dixon on March 30.

The arrests stem from a March 9 shooting thatĀ happenedĀ just before 6:30 p.m. in the 600 block of South 44th Street.

According to court documents, the victim was outside the location visiting friends when Gant and Dixon showed up, firing multiple rounds at her.

Police said she was hit three times in the chest and abdomen and taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where she recovered from her injuries.Ā Court documents state that Gant and the victim used to date.

Gant and Dixon fled the scene before police arrived, but are now both in custody.

Gant was charged with assault-domestic violence, while Dixon was charged assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Dixon pleaded not guilty at his arraignment March 31 and is being held on a $100,000 cash bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 8.
