LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Three people are dead after a shooting early Tuesday morning in Louisville's Portland neighborhood.

According to Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Aaron Ellis, officers were called just before 5 a.m. to the 2200 block of Griffiths Avenue on a reported shooting.

When officers arrived, they found two men and a woman inside, all suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating but have no suspects and no arrests have been made.

An LMPD spokesman said investigators don't believe there is a further threat to the community, but detectives are trying to determine the motive behind the shooting.

People who lived near the shooting woke up to some disturbing news.

"I woke up around 7:30 and it was already kind of a crowd, and taped off," said Michael Weinert.

A family member confirmed Mallory Rene Cox was one of the victims.

"I knew all of them, not close, but I knew who they were," said Joanne Harp.

Whether they knew the victims or didn't, the murders rattled neighbors.

"It's pretty terrible," Weinert said. "I've seen shootings before as well. But that's right across the street."

Harp was frustrated by the murders.

"It's the kind of stuff that gives us a bad name down here," Harp said. "I hope whoever did it, they catch because this is crazy."
