LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Three historic bronze plaques were stolen from the former Hardin County Courthouse.
According to the Elizabethtown Police Department, an investigation began Tuesday, March 31, after a 1933 Hardin County Courthouse dedication plaque and two 1955 Hardin County Historical Society plaques commemorating President Abraham Lincoln and President James Buchanan were stolen.
Police said they believe the theft occurred between March 18 and 24.
The plaques are cast bronze with ornamental corner rosettes and have historical value to the Hardin County community.
According to police, information leading to the recovery or identification of those responsible could result in a cash reward.
