LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Three people were arrested after a police chase in Elizabethtown on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

The chase ended on New Glendale Road near Highway 1136 and the 31W bypass at about 2:15 p.m.

Chris Denham, Public Affairs Officer with the Elizabethtown Police Department, said police were following up on investigative leads after an attempted ATM theft at Abound Credit Union on Ring Road. Police utilized Flock cameras to match a suspect and vehicle description and license plate.

Police attempted a traffic stop at College Street Road Five Star at U.S. 62.

"Officers located the vehicle based on a Flock hit and attempted a traffic stop," Denham said. "The driver failed to comply and fled the area."

Police chased the vehicle for a few miles. Denham said during the pursuit, the suspect's vehicle hit another motorist, but they weren't injured.

The vehicle then fled into a dead-end road and the three suspects fled on foot, according to Denham. All three of the suspects were taken into custody, a short time later, off the 31W bypass on the Southside of Elizabethtown.

"It's alarming anytime someone flees from law enforcement, there are other motorists on the road doing absolutely nothing wrong," Denham said. "They jeopardized their safety and the safety of law enforcement officers who are forced to conduct these pursuits."

Police plan to release the suspect's names later this week.
