LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Four people, including two teens, have been arrested in connection to a shooting in Louisville's Shawnee neighborhood.

Dwight Mitchell, a spokesman for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded Thursday to the area of S. 32nd and West Market streets on a shooting.

Police found a man shot in the arm by "unknown assailants." He was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

LMPD said in an update Friday that four people were arrested in connection to the shooting.

The arrests included:

  • 17-year-old boy, charged with assault and possession of a handgun by a minor
  • 16-year-old boy, charged with assault
  • Delquan Glass, 20, charged with assault
  • Amya Thomas, 18, charged with assault

According to court documents, the victim told police he was feeding stray cats in a parking lot when he saw two people get out of an SUV and approach him.

The victim tried driving off but was shot while in the car.

Police said on Friday officers found the vehicle used in the shooting and attempted a traffic stop.

The vehicle fled but was stopped by officers. Police detained five people from the vehicle and each described their involvement in the shooting after being read their rights by officers.
