LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A grand jury has indicted two men connected to an October 2024 murder in Louisville's Russell neighborhood.

Police found Mitchell Jackson Jr. dead with multiple gunshot wounds around 9 a.m. Oct. 20 at South 18th Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard, according to a written statement from the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. When police arrived, they found a body in the roadway wrapped tightly in plastic and duct tape.

Chadwick Fleming, 35, is now being charged with murder in the case. He was previously charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence.

According to an arrest citation, Fleming pulled the victim's body for several blocks through public roadways while the body was tied to the bumper of the vehicle.

Surveillance footage shows the body was hitched to the SUV by his feet. The body also "became loose from the vehicle in the roadway" according to police. Fleming then tried to put the body back in the vehicle without success and fled the scene, leaving the body in the roadway according to court documents.

Police also arrested Davone Collins, 26, in connection to the case. He is facing charges of tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
