LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A New Albany man was shot and killed Saturday evening after confronting a homeowner with a sword.
Indiana State Police said 68-year-old Kevin Campbell was inside his home at 1005 Slate Run Road in New Albany around 5 p.m.
He heard a knock on his bedroom window and went to the door with a "small caliber rifle."
Campbell found 41-year-old Christopher Proctor standing outside with a sword.
Proctor approached Campbell with the sword and Campbell shot him in the chest.
He died on the scene.
Police said Campbell called the New Albany Police Department after two hours to report a dead man in his yard. Campbell then told officers he shot Proctor.
Campbell was arrested and initially charged with obstruction of justice.
