Jamal Sheikh, 18, was arrested hours after the shooting that left the victim in critical condition. It happened around 6 p.m. May 6 in the 13000 block of Bold Forbes Boulevard. Officers responded to a shooting report at the Woods of Glen Hill Manor by Pond Creek, which is near the Snyder Freeway.

Police reviewed video from the apartment complex that showed Sheikh in a vehicle with a license plate that had a "unique window decal."

The vehicle was found with Sheikh in it, and he agreed to waive his Miranda rights. He told detectives he removed the decal to change its appearance because the "vehicle was hot." He also told police he drove three other people to the shooting scene "for the purpose of meeting the victim for a gun transaction."

Sheikh's next court appearance is scheduled for May 16 and he is prohibited from possessing firearms.
