LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man has been arrested and charged after surrendering to police for the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old in east Louisville last week.

Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said Terry Matthews, 22,  turned himself into the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at the Hall of Justice around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Matthews is charged with murder and wanton endangerment.

A judge entered a not guilty plea for Matthews on Thursday and set his bond at $100,000.

LMPD responded a little after 4:15 p.m. March 12 on a report of a shooting in the 3800 block of Riveroaks Circle, near Chamberlain Lane, according to Mitchell.

When police arrived, they found a man who had been shot twice in the chest. He died at the scene and was later identified as 19-year-old Quincy Coleman.

According to an arrest report, Matthews' mother, sister and her child were in the home at the time of the shooting, which happened as a verbal argument escalated.

Police said in court documents that Coleman and Matthews' sister had a child in  common.

Matthews is scheduled to be back in court on March 28.
