LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A car crashed into a building in the Phoenix Hill neighborhood Monday evening, causing significant damage.
Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said the call came in around 10:15 p.m. Monday of a motor vehicle collision in the 1100 block of East Broadway.
When officers arrived, they found an unoccupied vehicle that had hit a building.
Witnesses told officers that the driver was seen on foot nearby, according to Mitchell. Officers then stopped a female that was nearby and questioned her about the incident. Police said Tuesday she was cited for:
- Operating on a suspended or revoked operator license
- Leaving the scene of an accident-failure to render aid or assistance
- Failure to produce an insurance card
A Louisville Metro Government Building inspector was called to the scene to inspect the damage.
LMPD's 5th Division is handling the investigation.
