LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville police are asking for the public's help in an animal abuse case.

A concerned citizen contacted Animal Control Officers on Sept. 9 after they found the dog, Halo, who had endured unimaginable suffering, according to a Facebook post from LMPD.

Halo was first taken to Jefferson Animal Hospital for emergency overnight care and now resides under the care of The Arrow Fund.

Investigators believe Halo was kept in a small kennel for a long period of time, forced to lay down in his own urine and feces. This ultimately made him develop deep, open pressure wounds around his body.

They also believe that Halo was kept at an apartment complex in the 7500 block of Garrison Road.

If you know anything regarding Halo or the person held responsible for his neglect, LMPD is asking for you to reach out to their anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or submit a tip online here.
