LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Indiana man was arrested after an investigation uncovered he was sharing and receiving child pornography through social media.
Indiana State Police said Thursday Kordell T. Nienaber, 27, of Elizabethtown, Indiana, was charged with possession of child pornography.
Investigators with the Jennings County Sheriff's Office started investigating Tuesday after getting a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip alleged an individual had been "sharing and receiving pornographic images of children via a social media application."
ISP said the sheriff's office investigators are part of the state's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. They were able to track down an address in Jennings County where they said the photos were being shared and received. That's when they identified Nienaber as a suspect.
Nienaber was arrested Wednesday on a charge of possession of child pornography after police served a search warrant at his home. During that search, police said more evidence was found showing he had been in possession of and had distributed child porn.
Nienaber is being held in the Jennings County Jail awaiting his first court appearance. Police said more charges are possible as the investigation continues.
