LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Social media led to the arrest of an Indiana man on felony child porn charges.
According to Indiana State Police, a social media application sent a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating one of its users was sharing possible child pornography to other users.
Investigators issued and served several search warrants and subpoenas over a six-month period and were able to identify Michael Lawless, 56, of Columbus, Indiana, as a potential suspect.
Wednesday, search warrants were executed on Lawless, who was taken into custody on felony charges of distribution and possession of child pornography, ISP said.Â
Lawless is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.
