LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Stony Brook Kroger in Jeffersontown reopened Friday, two days after a man and woman were gunned down at the store.
Maurice Stallard, 69, and Vickie Jones, 67, lost their lives in the shooting. Police say 51-year-old Gregory Bush shot Stallard inside the store, then killed Jones in the parking lot.
The store re-opened at 7 a.m. Customers can sign a book inside, sending well wishes to the victims' families. Those at the store Friday morning said they are still in disbelief that something like this could happen.
David Burks lives near the Stony Brook Kroger.
"For an individual with that mental illness, to that extent, still being out and free to wreak havoc such as that, something's wrong with the system," Burks said. "Something must be done."
Bush was in court Thursday morning, where the judge set his bond at $5 million.
Kroger offered free coffee and donuts to customers who showed up Friday morning.
