LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB/WAVE) — A Louisville man accused of driving under the influence and killing a man in a crash last year was in court Thursday for a bond hearing.

Joshua Walsh, 31, appeared before a Jefferson County judge Thursday, who set Walsh's bond to $150,000 with home incarceration.

Walsh is accused of killing Rakan Alqudah in a crash on July 8, 2025.

Police at the time of the crash said a Ford Escape was traveling northbound on Bardstown Road, approaching Breckenridge Lane when the driver of the Escape, Walsh, failed to stop at the red light, where a Ford Focus and a Saturn Vue were stopped at. Walsh tried to dodge the stopped cars but hit the back end of the Focus, pushing it into the Vue. Walsh, in the Escape, then spun into oncoming southbound traffic and hit another car.

Alqudah, driver of the Focus, died at the hospital.

Walsh appeared in court via Zoom in April from California, claiming he found out about the charges from a background check.

"I am not running from anything, I want to handle this like a man," Walsh said in April. "I will do whatever you guys need me to do."

Records obtained by WAVE reveal speeding and alcohol were factors in the case. Walsh's blood alcohol level was 0.091, just above the legal limit.

Walsh is charged with murder, driving under the influence, speeding, wanton endangerment, criminal mischief and assault. He is due back in court on July 9 at 9:30 a.m.
