LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Homicide detectives are investigating after a female juvenile was shot to death late Thursday night. 

The investigation began after officers from the 6th Division were called to Norton Audubon Hospital around 11:30 p.m. after the victim "arrived by private means," according to a news release from Louisville Metro Police. 

Police determined the patient was involved in a shooting in the area of Preston Highway and Outer Loop a short time before arriving at the hospital, where she later died.
