LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A teen who was hospitalized in critical condition after he was shot in Old Louisville Wednesday afternoon has died.

That's according to a written statement from Louisville Metro Police spokesperson John Bradley. The shooting happened in the area of South 3rd and St. Catherine streets around 3:30 p.m., according to Bradley.

That's where officers responding to reports of a shooting found the male victim -- originally identified as an adult but that's now been identified as a teen -- who had been shot.

He was taken to UofL Hospital, where Bradley said he "succumbed to his injuries and died."

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim Thursday as Timothy Berry.
