LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A new nightclub will open this weekend near Louisville's Highlands neighborhood.
COCOS HOUSË will open at 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, on Baxter Avenue, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.
The club is located behind DioRio's Pizza & Pub, in the former Atmosphere Nightclub.
The owners said COCOS HOUSË will reflect the vibe found in Miami or European dance clubs as it hopes to capitalize off of the resurgence of house music.
"We've always had a dream of opening a bar and a nightclub, and we kind of fell in love with house music," co-owner Kyle Hawley told LBF. "I went on somewhat of a world tour and visited different European-style clubs, and the music they played and the atmosphere they created made us want to bring that experience to Louisville."
COCOS HOUSË will only be open Friday and Saturday nights. It will offer a full bar and bottle service, but no food.
The nightclub's opening comes as the Highlands grapples with concerns about late-night crowds and public safety. Hawley said he and his partners are mindful of those concerns and are implementing security measures, including off-duty police officers and a dress code.
General admission for the opening costs $15, with VIP seating available.
