LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman is in jail after being accused of giving birth in an IHOP bathroom then trying to flush the baby down the toilet.
By the time Bowling Green police arrived on the scene, the baby was already dead and Shaniqua Caldwell left the restaurant.
Officers then found Caldwell in the parking lot of a Red Roof Inn nearby. She denied being pregnant or medical treatment and claimed she was related to Michael Jordan and Denzel Washington.
Caldwell was taken into custody for an emergency health evaluation before being taken to jail.
She is being charged with concealing the birth of an infant.
The autopsy on the baby is still pending.
