LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating after multiple people were shot at a west Louisville nightclub.

Officers were called to Cole's Place in the 2800 block of West Kentucky Street around 3 a.m. Sunday.

According to LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell, witnesses stated a person, believed to be a male dressed in all white, began shooting inside the club.

Mitchell said six people were shot, including a pregnant woman who gave birth to her baby. All of the victims are expected to be okay.

"Once people hear gunshots, you know, everybody just runs in opposite directions trying to get away from all the drama," Sheronda Morris said.

Morris was there and says the chaotic scene brought her back to January of 2013.

"It was surreal just like the night I got hurt," she said.

That night, she was hit by a stray bullet at a club on Story Avenue.

"I was paralyzed for two and a half months."

Morris joined other gunshot wound survivors at Cole's Place on Sunday afternoon.

"We knew it was the right thing to do to stand up and move forward," community activist Christopher 2X said.

They had already planned to be at Cole's Place before the shooting.

Organizers announced a school supply giveaway hosted by Master P and 9-year-old gunshot wound survivor Ki'Anthony Tyus to be held on August 7.

Master P and his son Romeo Miller, known as Lil' Romeo, will also perform at Cole's Place that night for a "Keep the Peace" concert.

We're told they were partly inspired to host the event after two local rappers were gunned down near the club last month.

"We have high security here, and we try to make sure the people come here to enjoy themselves," Cole's Place owner John Cole said.

Sunday morning, Cole says the shooter likely jumped a fence and was targeting someone.

"We can't control the people," Cole said. "We just gotta deal with it and try to make it better."

Morris says these shootings push her to get more involved and she wants to help find a solution.

"Let's stop this senseless violence and come together," Morris said. "Just make our community a good neighborhood ... like it used to be."

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 574-LMPD (5673).
