LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was arrested for an attempted carjacking in Shively Tuesday morning, according to court documents.

Police were dispatched to the area of 2620 7th Street Road on a report that someone was being held at knife point. The suspect, 31-year-old George Evans was found near Central Avenue by police.

According to court documents, the victim said Evans approached her in a parking lot as she was getting out of her vehicle and said "you know what time it is." She told Evans she didn't have anything and asked to be left alone, according to police.

But Evans got into the vehicle, pulled out a black folding pocket knife and tried to steal the vehicle, according to police. Then Evans got out of the vehicle and followed the victim around the car.

He then walked away. But police found the knife and Evans a short time later near the scene.

Evans pleaded not guilty to attempted carjacking Wednesday morning. A cash bond was set for $25,000.
