LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was arrested after a child was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Fairdale April 17, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD said a child was hit by a pickup truck in the 10000 block of Manslick Road around 6:25 p.m. According to police, the child was taken to Norton Children's Hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
Police said Paul Taube, 40, fled the scene. According to court documents, Taube told police he was unaware that he hit anyone and assumed that it was a speed bump.
Court documents said Taube was told that a victim had been hurt during the incident. He then hid his truck behind his garage and removed the license plate and threw it away. According to court documents, he also removed a window decal that could easily identify his vehicle.
Taube turned himself in to police later that evening.
Police said the child suffered an injury to her arm that required surgery.
