LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man is accused of crashing into a home in the Shawnee neighborhood while fleeing from police Saturday night.
Radee Browning faces a long list of charges. According to an arrest citation, police were called to a home in the 900 block of South 41st Street in the Chickasaw neighborhood on a report that the Browning was "possibly intoxicated" and banging on the door of his girlfriend's home, trying to get in.
When officers arrived on scene, they found Browning sitting in a vehicle outside the home. Police directed a spotlight into the vehicle and "were able to clearly see the subject's face."
Police said Browning began moving the vehicle, nearly hitting two police cars. While fleeing the scene, police said he drove towards an officer who had to move out of the way to avoid being hit. Officers gave Browning "multiple verbal orders to stop" but did not pursue. A domestic report was filed for the initial call, police said.
While officers were still at the home, they received another call that someone ran a car into their home and the driver was running down South 41st Street. Police said Browning, while fleeing the scene, crashed into a home in the 600 block of South 41st street, causing an estimated $2,000 in damage. That's in the Shawnee neighborhood. Browning is then accused of running off on foot.
Inside Browning's vehicle, officers found several empty alcohol containers and his wallet, which contained cards with his name. Browning was arrested after calling 911. Police said he was found to be "profoundly under the influence of alcohol."
Browning was charged with fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment of a police officer and criminal mischief.
In court for his arraignment Monday morning, Browning pleaded not guilty and judge Amber Wolf set his bond at $25,000. His next court appearance was scheduled for Aug. 4.
