Zachary Lee McCauley

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been charged with sex trafficking a 13-year-old girl in Pennsylvania.

According to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, 29-year-old Zachary Lee McCauley of Louisville allegedly coerced the victim through fear to engage in sexual intercourse with two other men in October.

“I praise the mother in this case because her instincts were correct,” Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn said. “And I praise the victim in this case, she is only 13 years of age, and she is so strong and she is not to be blamed for what occurred. These cases cannot succeed without the amazing team of county detectives and the other detectives throughout Bucks County who make up our Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. They use the resources and their expertise to battle these crimes every single day.”

Court documents show that St. Matthews Police executed a search warrant at Baptist Health Louisville on April 2 in reference to a crimes against children investigation.

McCauley spoke with detectives and admitted to knowing the minor and possessing nude images of the victim, court records said.

According to court documents, McCauley said he thought the victim was 17 or 18 years old then admitted that the victim's actual age was 13 and still possessed the images.

Detectives then previewed two of his devices and found more than 10 images and videos of the victim.

The victim was on Snapchat and an individual on the site added her as a friend and identified himself as Jake and claimed to be 17 years old.

Jake was then identified as McCauley.

McCauley allegedly made threats to the victim about hurting her mother if she didn't do what he said. He allegedly made a fake Grindr account of the victim to solicit dates with the victim.

When he didn't have access, he'd tell the victim to send him screenshots of conversations she had with others so he could tell her what to say.

McCauley allegedly arranged numerous encounters with men and the victim which led to her meeting with three of them. Officials say two of the men engaged in statutory sexual intercourse with the victim but the third encounter ended when the man became suspicious of the victim's age.

The two men were identified as Jon Thomas Van Ingen, 67, of Buckingham Township and Randy Francis Quinn, 42, of Coopersburg.

The men were arraigned Monday in Pennsylvania and released on a $150,000 unsecured bail.

McCauley has been initially charged with trafficking in individuals, sexual exploitation of children, corruption of minors, criminal use of a community facility and unlawful contact with a minor and sexual abuse of children.

Officials said McCauley was also charged with solicitation to commit statutory sexual assault, solicitation to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, solicitation to commit patronizing victim of sexual servitude, solicitation to commit aggravated indecent assault, and solicitation to commit sexual abuse of children.

McCauley has been booked in Metro Corrections and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Monday.

The investigation is being conducted by detectives with the Bucks County District Attorney's Office. St. Matthews Police and the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General assisted with the investigation and arrest of McCauley.
