LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to stealing an ambulance from a downtown Louisville hospital.

George Russell, 31, was arrested Monday on several outstanding warrants.

Louisville Metro Police said on Feb. 28, Russell was seen in surveillance video in the Jewish Hospital bay. He walked around the ambulances before getting into one, turning on the lights and driving away. The ambulance was found parked on South Jackson Street three minutes later.

Court documents said the value of the ambulance is $500,000.

Russell also faces charges in several other cases including a theft from a hotel, and a robbery and assault of a security guard at Dosker Manor.

Russell is being held at Metro Corrections on a $50,000 bond, and is scheduled to be in court again on April 23.
