LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Scott County man was arrested for child battery, Indiana State Police said Monday.

ISP said a trooper responded to a report of a possible battery to a 4-year-old child April 4. Police said the incident happened April 3 in Scott County.

According to police, the child was evaluated by a forensic team at Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville and then interviewed April 10.

Police interviewed Joshua D. Wright, 31, during the investigation, and an arrest warrant was issued for him April 11. 

Wright was charged with battery on a person less than 14 committed by a person at least 18 and domestic battery against a child under 14 years of age. 

He was taken to the Scott County Jail.
