LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man who pleaded guilty to several charges in connection with a crash on the 2nd Street Bridge (Clark Memorial Bridge) in 2021 has been sentenced.Â
Rahsaan Mosley, 26, admitted he was driving the vehicle that rear-ended another vehicle on the bridge on Dec. 11, and pleaded guilty to several charges on March 11.
Witnesses told police that Mosley was speeding across the bridge, when he abruptly switched lanes and rear-ended a truck. The impact pushed the truck into a steel support beam on the bridge.
The two people in the truck died: Teddy Brock was killed instantly, and Joya Brock died at the hospital.
Investigators said after the wreck, Mosley got out of the vehicle and ran toward Louisville, leaving his girlfriend in the wrecked car that belonged to her. Police said she initially claimed she was driving, but when she was told the victims had died, she admitted Mosely was driving.
As part of a plea deal, Mosley pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter, wanton endangerment, and failure to stop and ender aid. He was sentenced on April 22 to 10 years on the manslaughter charges, five years for wanton endangerment, and five years for failure to render aid, according to a news release.Â
The sentences are to run concurrently, meaning Mosley will spend 10 years in prison.Â
